Love of my life: Hummus.

Hummus Who would say that chickpeas could taste good? All my childhood I have been hating them, because, like everybody, I thought that they could only be prepared in that kind of soup with rice that is very disgusting. Since I live alone, I started cooking for myself, but I wouldn't say that in that moment I knew how to cook. Probably I learned well when I went vegan. I discovered a lot of new flavors, things that I was missing, and among that, chickpeas as hummus.

Hummus is so wonderful that you can eat it with practically anything: rice with hummus, noodles with hummus, tomato salad with humus (oh my god), bread (marraqueta parfavar) with tomato AND hummus! or just hummus, is enough by himself, sublime.

Everyone has a different way to cook it, so I share mine, which is very simple:

1) Saute garlic, carrot and red peppers, with olive oil and some black salt (the salt is just to add some flavor).
2) Mix with a mug of chickpeas on a minipimer.
3) Add white salt (now you can care about the salty taste).

Very simple, and tastes like heaven.

When I am in the university, I have lunch at the ICEI casino, because their vegan menu is very nutritious, maybe the only one in this campus. I hardly ever go to any restaurant, because I really like to cook, but it's more because I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me.
